The health of the camping industry in South Korea looks strong after more than 65,000 people attended the 10^th anniversary of one of its leading events, the Camping & Picnic Fair.

Taking place from 10 to 13 March at the Ilsan KINTEX exhibition centre just outside of the country’s capital city Seoul, the fair hosted 127 different brands including leading names such as KZM, Snowline, Claymore, WIWO, ABENAKI, POLARIS, Lumena, and Decathlon Korea to name a few. The brand showcased products for the upcoming spring and summer camping season across many different product categories, with a particular upturn in the popularity of auto-camping or camping in vehicles such as campervans and motorhomes. There were around 40 brands exhibiting in the market sectors of camping trailers, motorhomes and caravans, with the trends pointing towards high-quality technology and also towards camping beginners.

The show’s organisers, Allfair, said they hoped the show was a good opportunity to help campers widen their view in a short period of time and make more informed buying decisions by being able to compare so many products at once.

Allfair also said: “We express our gratitude for the strong interest and affection from the visitors that attended the fair and claimed that it will try to spread the right camping culture.” Allfair and the Camping & Picnic Fair have been running several campaigns to encourage correct camping etiquette, especially among newcomers to the hobby. One of its latest programmes was called ‘Being quite a good camper’ through its official SNS channel.
